Africa Here We Come!
Vail and I are absolutely thrilled about moving to Africa this November. We're going over for two weeks this August to take care of some preliminary business, look for housing and make some practical preparations. We'll actually spend the first week conducting a conference in Kakira, Uganda for upwards of 200 key leaders from seven different nations, each of whom is already in a long-term relationship with us, or has expressed an interest in connecting with what we're already doing.
Traveling with us this August will be Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers. Steve will be a main speaker in the conference while Denice and Vail oversee the clean water project that will be completed while we are there. During the conference, we will build on what began last December when we committed ourselves to redoubling our efforts in the months and years ahead to impact Uganda and the surrounding nations.
In this
conference there will be an intense time of practical training and also
a time during which I want to lay out before them some of the strategy
the Lord has given us for their region:
1. Continue building a community of church-planting churches that ministers to the needs of the people at the local level and effectively evangelizes the unreached. 2. Initiate clean water projects, which are desperately needed. This is an example of how we can effect change that benefits entire village areas. 3. Launch a microfinance outreach that will be a powerful tool for alleviating poverty among churches and villages. The wheels are already in motion for this. We consider what we are doing in Uganda as a pilot project, allowing us tocreate an African model suitable for deployment in Cameroon and other African nations as well. This strategy has ignited the hearts and literally exploded in the minds of the East African national leaders. They are beside themselves with the exciting potential this has for changing their villages and nations. The future is phenomenal, much bigger than any of us individually, because it is not about building a single ministry but about building the Kingdom of God. Your financial help is absolutely critical now. Our start-up budget initially is $50,000.00, which includes travel, all conference-related expenses for the 200 plus national leaders, and a clean water project, the first of many planned, near Kayunga town, about thirty miles from the source of the Nile River, where we have several churches. We are renovating and reconditioning a natural spring, converting it from a muddy mess into a cemented well that will not only provide clean water, but will literally change the lives of the hundreds who live in this area. Please, will you help us? Each of the national delegates will pay their own way to and from the conference but we are taking care of their food and lodging. You can sponsor one or more pastors for $100.00 each, or you may want to give specifically toward the water well project. All I can ask is that you obey what you sense in your heart. Thank you in advance for believing in us and in this vision enough to stand by our sides. May God richly bless your life and reward you abundantly! Mike Croslow |
